Dolphins visit Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum

Year 2 had a wonderful trip to the Russell-Cotes Museum, where they enjoyed learning about the similarities and differences between the seaside today and in Victorian times. The children had the opportunity to handle historical objects, including a parasol and a penny lick, and studied the beautiful view of Bournemouth Pier from the museum window, comparing it with the same view from Victorian times. They discovered what people wore to the seaside in the Victorian era and created their own traditional souvenir by making sand-in-a-bottle artwork to take home. The day finished with a lovely picnic on the lawn before the journey back to school by bus. You can see more photographs on the gallery page of the school website.
